SouthEast Asia’s largest solar power plant inaugurated in southern Vietnam

On September 7, 2019 in Tan Chau district (Tay Ninh), Dau Tieng Tay Ninh Energy JSC inaugurated the Dau Tieng solar (phôt power plant project.

The inauguration of the Dau Tieng solar power complex was organized in Tan Chau District, Tay Ninh Province on Saturday morning 

Developed by Vietnam’s Xuan Cau Holdings and Thailand’s B. Grimm Power Public Company, the project cost more than VND9.1 trillion (US$391 million).

The event was attended by former State President Nguyen Minh Triet, Head of the Central Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh, Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh, and leaders of provinces and cities in southern Vietnam.

After more than 10 months of constrution, in June 2019, Dau Tieng solar power complex officially joined the national grid, provided clean and green energy for Tay Ninh provine in particular and additional power source for the southern region in general.


Dau Tieng solar power plant was officially put into commercial operation in June, 2019 

The project covers an area of over 540 hectares within the semi-submerged land at Dau Tieng Lake in Tay Ninh with a total capacity of 420 MW. The plant is able to supply approximately 688 million kWh per year to the national grid.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, the head of the Central Economic Commission, said that the plant would help turn Tay Ninh into one of the country’s "capitals" of solar power.
It will contribute to the valuable resources of green and clean energy, while helping ensure national energy security and boosting local socio-economic development, the official stated.
